A potentiality of Bangladeshi Migrant Workers

According to the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA), over 1800 manpower recruiters are now functioning in the country. Successful manpower recruiters will now be granted Commercially Important Person (CIP) designation for their remarkable contribution to overseas employment. This policy was announced by the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment in a gazette dated August 25, 2021, where three of them will be reserved for women entrepreneurs. In this fiscal year 2020-2021, remittances from expatriate employees reached a new high of US$ 24.78 billion where recruiting agencies play a vital role. BAIRA strives to locate acceptable work prospects for skilled, qualified, and experienced people who have exposure to diverse employment sectors through the use of technological skills in the world’s advanced countries. 

The movement of employees, which totaled 317799 from January to September 2021, was 46% or 100,130 greater than the figure for the full calendar year 2020. According to BMET, the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant influence on this migratory process. As per the official tally, manpower recruiters could only deliver 217,669 people by 2020. However, in November 2021, Bangladesh dispatched manpower to 33 other nations in search of work. In September, Saudi Arabia employed 31,238 Bangladeshi employees. Oman had the second-highest number of recruits, with 4661, followed by Qatar with 1568 and Jordan with 1324.
