Scaffolding is a temporary framework used to support a work crew and supplies during the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, bridges, and other man-made structures. As the complexity of the building activity varies, so does the type of scaffolding system required.
There are 8 types of scaffolding, such as - trestle scaffolding, steel scaffolding, patented scaffolding, suspended scaffolding, cantilever scaffolding, single scaffolding, double scaffolding, and kwikstage scaffolding. Trestle Scaffolding
In trestle scaffolding, the working platform is supported by moveable ladders or tripods (or inverted V shape). It is utilized up to a height of 5m and is typically used for work within the room such as repairs, painting, and so on.

Steel Scaffolding

Patented Scaffolding
Patented scaffoldings are commercially available ready-made scaffoldings. The working platform is mounted on brackets that can be adjusted to the desired level.

Cantilever Scaffolding
Cantilever scaffold is also called ‘needle scaffold’ because it has needles to support. To prevent the scaffolding framework from collapsing, the 'needle' is reinforced on all sides. Cantilever scaffolding is classified into two types: single frame scaffolding and double frame scaffolding, often known as independent scaffolding.
