Duties and Responsibilities:

• Erecting timber structures like roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and studs

• Designing and installing cabinetry, shelving, furniture, drywall, and insulation

• Installing fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures

• Selecting appropriate timber based on size, strength, budget, and style preferences of clients

• Calculating quantities of fasteners required for each project

• Collaborating with clients, suppliers, and fellow construction experts

• Reading blueprints and plans to work in alignment with other construction professionals, architects, and building code guidelines

• Engaging in physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, climbing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects

• Demonstrating proficiency in operating various tools, machines, and equipment

Qualifications:

• An associate degree or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship

• Minimum HSC level completion

• Strong knowledge and experience in carpentry

• Physical fitness and excellent hand-eye coordination

• Effective communication skills

• Basic proficiency in arithmetic and English
